Recommendations:

  • Internet Explorer 4.5 or 5 is recommended.
  • Monitors: 1024 x 768 resolution or higher, millions of colors.

 

I get a blank screen instead of the space-trip

If you wait 30 seconds and still get a blank screen, then you need the free Macromedia Flash 4 or 5 plug-in. Netscape users may need to restart Netscape after Flash installation.

 

The website is taking too long to load

When you click on the space trip button you should see the SpaceWander logo within 10 to 30 seconds. If it takes longer than that, then our website is being jammed with too much traffic. Please consider taking the Metric, Spanish, or French version of the trip. The metric version is in English. Or you may choose to try back later. We are working on upgrading our servers to handle more traffic (we are getting 30 times the traffic we anticipated!) .

 

The space-trip crashes after starting

Try clearing your cache- this will fix the problem 99% of the time. To clear the cache, go to the space-trip page, hold down the shift key and hit the reload/refresh button on your browser.

 

Non-SpaceWander pages load instead

Occasionally non-SpaceWander pages will load during heavy traffic times due to a bug in the server. We are working hard to correct this problem. Please try again and reload the page and clear your cache by holding down the shift key and hit reload/refresh. You may want to try again later.

 

Why is there no sound?

The trip includes real launch audio at the beginning. If you do not hear this, turn up the sound on your computer (or make sure the mute button is not checked on your computer). The rest of the trip is mostly silent because 1) we wanted it to load more quickly and 2) there is no sound in space!
